Everyone had time in their lives where they wished to go back. Michael Josefsson did not just look to the past he lived in it. When he first stepped into Busuanga, the island where he currently resides, he felt like he went through a time machine and came out as a pioneer who was starting a settlement in an untouched land.
He traded his leather shoes for tsinelas and busy streets for pristine seashores. Although most peoples´ idea of a job involved working in an office, that was exactly what he had always wanted to avoid. Instead of reaching the top of the corporate ladder, he preferred climbing the jungles of Busuanga.
Michael had always been a businessperson; for the past twenty years, and a successful one. However, he traded his lucrative businesses in Sweden to focus on running Pier House Lodging with his beautiful wife Elizabeth. It is the perfect spot for this adventurous diver who wanted the simple but good life. Despite his wide array of experiences, living in an island resort still gave him opportunities to do things he never thought he would be able to do, like designing and constructing architecture for his resort.
He simply found it far more satisfying to stay in a quiet town where he had the freedom to explore with his guests. The unspoiled wildlife and best diving spots the island has to offer. He was more than glad to share with his guests what he has to enjoy everyday by offering services like hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and even diving so visitors have to enjoy the underwater shipwrecks from World War II. Rather than focusing on making money, he focused on creating a place that is comfortable, beautiful, and practical.
Pier House lodging is Michael and Elizabeth’s lifelong project, constantly being spoiled and adorned by this beautiful couple. With Michael’s passion for the island life and Elizabeth’s natural hospitality, they have never failed to make the guests feel at home.
